Hello, and welcome to my newsletter/blog My name is Kambiz Kamrani, and I'm glad you're here. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about my background.

Currently, I serve as an Acute Care General Surgeon for Banner Medical Group in Arizona. I have been in this role since August 2020. My path to this position has been a journey through extensive education and specialized training.

My academic career began at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in 2004. I have run Anthropology.net and Primatology.net since then. I also worked with Koko, the sign language gorilla.

Following that, I pursued a Master of Science in Biology at California State University, East Bay, which I completed in 2008. My passion for medicine then led me to St. George's University School of Medicine, where I earned my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2013. Following medical school, I completed comprehensive General Surgery Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, from July 2013 to June 2019.

I am now a board-certified surgeon by the American Board of Surgery (2019) and hold active medical licenses in Arizona and California. Additionally, I am certified in both Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) and Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery (FES), which I obtained in 2018.

Throughout my career, I have also had the privilege of contributing to the field of surgery through research and publications on various topics. My work has appeared in several peer-reviewed journals, including, JAMA Surgery, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Surgical Research, and Radiology Case Reports.

I look forward to sharing more insights and experiences with you through this newsletter/blog.
